It is very easy to criticize others for their shortcomings since we can clearly see where and how they are going wrong. However, it is a thousand times more difficult to see our own shortcomings. There could be many reasons why, but one obvious reason may be our refusal to acknowledge that we too are not perfect in many ways. Our own faults are always hard to see, and even when we do notice them, we may not be able to overcome them right away since, as they say, “old habits die hard.” The only way to overcome our faults so as not to keep making the same mistakes is to cultivate determination and make the right effort.
